Blogging Task 11 - What are the sub-genres of Teen Drama?

There are two sub genres for Teen Dramas:

High School Drama

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Plot: The film follows a high school  student Ferris Bueller who decides to skip school and spend the day at home. Accompanied by his girlfriend Sloane Peterson and his best friend Cameron Frye , he creatively avoids his school's Dean of Students Edward Rooney , his resentful sister Jeanie, and his parents.

Characters and Social Groups

Matthew Broderick-
The main character that represents a young male in the time the film is set in. He represents a cool kid in the 80's who skips school and has some fun. Represents the cool kids social group.

Cindy Pickett-
This is Katie Bueller in the film who is Ferris Bueller's mother. She represents the adult social group who are consumed by  their work. She is always busy and doesnt realise that Ferris is not really ill as she is a caring mother , easily convinced.


Youth Drama

Boyz In The Hood
Plot: A young 10 years old boy Tre is a black male in a urban ghetto area he is intelligent but aggresive so he is sent to live with his father in South Central LA. The story depicts life in the ghetto and the thngs he has to experience on his journey to becoming a man.


Cuba Gooding Jr-
Under his father, Furious, he became a responsible adult and works at the Mall and has a girlfriend, Brandi. He is hoping to attend college to have a normal life. He challenges the stereotype of a young black male in the hood at the time the movie was released.

Ice Cube-
Ice Cube is playing the role of Doughboy who is a member of the Crip Gang .  He conforms to the stereotype of a gang member and he gets into a lot of issues and trouble through out the film. He is a high-school dropout and a juvenile delinquent who never knew his father, and lives with his uncaring mother who clearly favors Ricky over him. He is street-smart, but aggressive.
